Filippo Gillono (b. July 4, 1996, Italy) is a guitarist and composer with a strong background in jazz and contemporary music. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Guitar and a Master's degree in Jazz Composition from the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Turin, followed by an advanced Master's in Contemporary Music at KASK Conservatorium, Belgium, in collaboration with the Ictus Ensemble. Active in both the experimental and improvised music scenes, he has performed internationally, collaborating with a wide range of artists and ensembles such as Frankye Partipilo, SPAT LEMBO, Pietra Tonale, Umut Adan, Hilary Galbreaith, Hansko Visser, Pasquale Calò, Kamil Pietrovich, Pablo Lienhard, Vincent Laju, Gavin Bryars, Claron McFadden, Cameron Dodds, Paolo Possidente, Ivan Bringas, GAME.
Gillono’s work often explores interdisciplinary approaches, exemplified by his sound installation ITER, (Gruppo ZARATAN) and L.I.E.
He has been resident in Officin&ideali Residenze in transito, Petersbourg Art Space, Smog, LOD muziektheater Bjloke Summer Academy, Worm, among others.
He played in festivals and venues such as Klara Festival, Torino jazz festival, Jazz is Dead, Fusion Festival, Duna Jam, Valkhof Festival, Keçi festival, JazzOrca, Salon iKSV.
